WholeRun was called Glowtape, and WholeRun GO was called Glowtape GO, before version 6.0 of WholeRun (October 2026). Files made with those versions keep working. Other names belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility (for example Windows, Microsoft Store, Edge, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Outlook, Anthropic, OpenAI, Ollama and LM Studio). WholeRun and WholeRun GO aren’t made or endorsed by those companies.
Scripts and performance rights
Importing a script, printing pages, making actor tools, caption or surtitle files, audio description notes and rehearsal videos can count as copying. Check that your performance license or the rights holder allows it. Many licensing agreements limit how scripts may be copied, shared and recorded. Playing recorded music and sound effects in a performance (for example with WholeRun GO) usually needs its own license, separate from the license for the play.
Safety
WholeRun’s checks, warnings and estimates help you notice problems; they don’t make a production safe. Flying, rigging, pyrotechnics, haze, weapons, stage combat and intimacy, fire safety, evacuation and the care of young performers must follow your venue’s procedures, qualified professionals and the law.
Accuracy
Timings, forecasts, sightlines, collision checks, speaker detection, relining, breakdown suggestions, content-warning suggestions, captions, audio description notes and AI answers are estimates. Check anything that matters.
Working hours
Working-hours rule sets and reminders are settings you choose. They are not legal advice and do not represent any union agreement, contract or law. Check your own agreements, your school’s rules and the law, especially for young performers.
Personal and medical information
You decide what personal information a production holds. WholeRun keeps medical notes off every report except Emergency & medical, and out of emails, actor files, feedback and shared copies unless you choose otherwise. Share files that hold personal information only with people who need them.
WholeRun only makes drafts. Your own email program sends them, under your account and your provider’s rules. Follow anti-spam laws and your organization’s rules when emailing groups.
AI
The AI assistant is optional and uses a service you choose, under that service’s terms. AI can be wrong or make things up. Nothing it suggests is applied until you approve it.
Languages
WholeRun’s standard language is American English. Spanish, French and German modes are a beta: they translate the main screens, menus and guides, and may not be perfect or complete. Legal terms are binding only in English.
Open-source software
WholeRun includes PDF.js (Apache License 2.0), and the Sora, IBM Plex Sans and Atkinson Hyperlegible typefaces (SIL Open Font License 1.1). Their full licenses are in Help › Licenses and credits.
